Sidney Broughton was born around 1899 in Norwich and was the son of Joshua John Coe Broughton (1865) and Emma Twiddy. He was the grandson of Joshua Broughton (1839) and the grandson of John Broughton (1809). In 1901 he was aged 2 and living at 93 Goldwell Road in Norwich.
