SIDNEY BROUGHTON (1882 - 1955) Photo button

Sidney Broughton was born on 2nd July 1882 in Ravensmeer, Beccles, and christened on 7th October 1882 in Beccles. He was the son of Raymond Broughton (1842) and Louisa Garrould. In 1891 he was aged 8, was living in Ingate Street, Beccles. In 1901 he was single and was working as a blacksmith's labourer. He was boarding in the house of Frederick and Susan Fiske in Puddingmoor, Beccles. He married Emma Edith Flowers at Kirkley on 9th October 1910. He lived at 29 St George's Road in Kirkley from 1914 to 1938 and then moved to Nuneaton. He died in Nuneaton from uraemia and a cholecystotomy on 17th September 1955 and was buried on 21st September 1955 in Bucks Hill Cemetery.
