| Robert
Broughton was born in 1832 and christened in Edgefield on 8th January
1832. He was the son of Robert Broughton (1798) and Sarah Woodyard.
He was the grandson of John Broughton (1768). In 1841 he was living
at Cross Green, Edgefield. He married Phebe Woodhouse in Edgefield
on 9th November 1857 and, in 1861, was working as a blacksmith at
Cross Green in Edgefield. In 1864 he was a blacksmith and iron founder
at the forge at the Cross Roads, Edgefield. By 1871 he was working
as a blacksmith in the Street, Marsham. In 1881 he was working as
a blacksmith in North Walsham. He died before 1891. |
