Broughton would be about 24 if my tentative dating of this photograph
to 1911 is correct - but somehow she looks older! It's difficult
to tell when photograph sitters always looked so solemn, but
she appears to be a timid, put-upon sort of person. Her mother,
Louisa Garrould, certainly seems rather stern and forbidding... |
