Kate
Broughton married fisherman Henry Knights in 1901. If the assumption
that her photograph was taken about 1911 is correct, then she
would be around 37 , and the child on her knee might be Miriam
Elva Knights (1911). Kate and Henry lived at 500 London Road
in Pakefield - just across the road from Kirkley Cemetery where
her parents, Raymond Broughton and Louisa Garrould - were buried.
It's possible that Raymond and Louisa actually lived with Kate
and Henry at no. 500 - for both died at that address (Raymond
in 1912 and Louisa in 1913). |
