Kate Louisa
Broughton was born in 1874 in Beccles and was the daughter of Raymond
Broughton (b.1842) and Louisa Garrould. In 1881 she was aged 7 and
was living in New Road, Beccles. In 1891 she was 16 and living in
Ingate Street in Beccles. In 1901 she was aged 26 and working as a
domestic servant in the Jolly Sailors Inn in Kirkley near Lowestoft.
She married Henry Knights, a Pakefield fisherman and the illegitimate
son of fisherman William Goldspink, on 7th July 1901. She died on
16th October 1954.
