| Horace
George Broughton was born around 1873 in Beccles and was the son of
Raymond Broughton (b.1842) and Louisa Garrould. In 1881 he was aged
8 and was living in New Road, Beccles. In 1891 he was working as a
blacksmith. In 1901 he was boarding at the house of Mrs. Triphena
Rose at 3 Lakenham Cottage, Beach Street in Pakefield. He was then
aged 28 and was a boiler maker. Sometime after 1901 he married Triphena,
whose maiden name was Knights.
