| Edward Broughton was born on 31st May 1805 in Plumstead and was christened on 1st June 1805. He was the son of John Broughton (b.1768) and Ann Bugg. He married Elizabeth Remmington on 14th December 1830 and they moved to Canada sometime between 1831 and 1838 - probably 1836. In 1881, he was aged 76 and was farming at Blenheim, Oxford North in Ontario. He was listed as being a Methodist. He died in Canada on 17th January 1893 and his will - in which his estate was left to his wife and children - was proved on 9th February. | |||||||||||||
