Henry
Broom was the son of Job Broom (1795) and Elizabeth and was born in
Clopton in 1826. In 1851 he was working as a farm horseman for farmer
Thomas Todd in Clopton. He married Caroline Payne in the Woodbridge
area in 1852. In 1861 he was working as an agricultural labourer in
Carlton Colville. In 1871 he was still an agricultural labourer and
working at Lower Farm in Carlton. Caroline had died by 1881, and he
had married a woman called Sophia. In 1881 he was living near the
Bell Inn in Carlton and working as a groom and gardener. In 1891 he
was living in Lowestoft Road, Carlton, and working as an agricultural
labourer. He died in 1899, aged 73.
