John
Booth was the son of William Booth (1840) and Mary, and was born around
1864 in Blackrod. In 1871 he was living in Little Scotland, Blackrod.
In 1881 he was aged 17, was living in Little Scotland, and was a rope
minder in a colliery. In 1891 he was working as a coal miner and living
with his widowed mother at 4 Blundell Lane, Blackrod.
