| Augusta
Bailey was the daughter of Ann Bailey - listed as a widow in 1861.
In 1861 she was living with her mother and her illegitimate son, William
Bastard, in Sprowston and working as a washerman. She was still in
Sprowston in 1871, where her occupation was given as a laundress.
She became the second wife of John Broughton (1809), marrying him
in Norwich in 1877. In 1881 she was living in Church Street in the
St. Clement district of Norwich, where she was working as a laundress.
By 1891, the Broughtons had moved to Silver Street. Augusta is not
mentioned on John's death certificate of 1893. |
