Thomas
Ainscough was born on 24th September 1854 and christened on 8th October
1854 at St. Katherine's Church in Blackrod. He was the son of William
Ainscough (1816) and Fanny Holding. In 1861 he was aged 6, was at
school and was living Farm Lease in Blackrod. In 1871 he was aged
16, was working as a labourer and was living in Little Scotland, Blackrod.
In 1881 he was aged 26 and was living in the household of his elder
brother Robert at 14 Regent Street in Pemberton. He married Ellen
Parkinson in 1881. In 1891 he was aged 35, was working as a colliery
engine minder and was living at 21 Turners Yard in Pemberton. In 1901
he was aged 45 and still living in Turner's Yard.
