Ralph Ainscough was born around 1897 in Pemberton and was the son of Solomon Ainscough (1867) and Mary Beardsmore. He was the grandson of John Ainscough (1839) and the great-grandson of William Ainscough (1816). In 1901 he was aged 4 and was living at 141 Enfield Street, Pemberton.
