Michael
Ainscough was born around 1864 in Blackrod and was the son of James
Ainscough (1843) and Mary Ann Waring. He was the grandson of William
Ainscough (1816). In 1871 he was aged 7 and living in Cock Tavern
Yard, Blackrod. In 1881 he was aged 17, was a drawer in a coal mine
and was living in Little Scotland, Blackrod. He married Elizabeth
Moore from Aspull, in 1886. in 1891 he was aged 27, was working as
a miner and was living at 20 Little Scotland in Blackrod. In 1901
he was aged 37, was a coal miner hewer and was living at 12 Off Houghton
Street in Hindley.
