Jane Ainscough was born around 1862 in Blackrod and was the daughter of James Ainscough (1843) and Mary Ann Waring. She was the granddaughter of William Ainscough (1816). In 1871 she was aged 9 and living in Cock Tavern Yard, Blackrod. In 1881 she was aged 19, was working as a cotton weaver and living in Little Scotland, Blackrod. In 1891, she was aged 29, single and living with her parents at 384 Manchester Road in Blackrod. She was then a frametenter in a cotton mill. I have not traced Jane in the 1901 census.
