JOHN AINSCOUGH (1810 - ?)
John Ainscough was born on 18th March 1810 and christened on 8th April 1810 at St. Katherine's Church in Blackrod. He was the son of Ralph Ainscough (1782) and Nanny. He may have been the same John Ainscough who married Mary Benson from Hawkshead and who, from 1841 to 1861, was working as a mechanic in Haigh and Aspull. He had retired by 1871 and was living in Gullet, Aspull, where he was described as a former iron turner.
