George
Ainscough was born on 23rd December 1859 in Blackrod and was christened
at St Katherine's church on 15th January 1860. He was the son of William
Ainscough (1816) and Margaret Waring. In 1861 as George Ainscow, he
was aged 1 and was living at Farm Lease in Blackrod. In 1871 he was
aged 11 and was living at Little Scotland, Blackrod. In 1881 he was
aged 21, was working as a coal miner and was living with his father
in Dark Lane, Blackrod. He married Sarah Heyes in 1884 and, in 1891,
was living at 18 Little Scotland in Blackrod. He was aged 30 and working
as a coal miner. In 1901 he was aged 40, was an underground works
inspector in a coal mine and was living at 67 Little Scotland.
