| Ann
Ainscough was born in Horwich on 30th October 1901 and was the daughter
of George Ainscough (b.1870) and Mary Ellen Winward. She was known
as Annie and was never married. She and a sister ran a confectioner's-cum-bakery
in Leicester Avenue in Horwich for many years but, when her father
retired to Lostock, she went with them to look after them. She died
about 1983.
