312 LONDON ROAD, KIRKLEY

Horace Garrould, the younger brother of my great-grandmother, Louisa Garrould, lived here from the late 19th-century to the early years of the 20th century. He had a boot and shoe business in Union Place Kirkley, and his wife - Emma Forder - let out rooms in the house in London Road as apartments. These may have been for long-term tenants or as holiday apartments.
