Frettenham Augst 25th, 1838

Dear Daughter & Son in Law & Grand Children this come with our kind love to you all hopein to find you in good helth as it leave all our Fammilys at Pressent thanks be to God for it; I have sent you 2 letters & I am very sorry I have had no answer I received your Last Letter July 2, 1837 with the gratest of Pleasure we are gratly disapontd of no letter from you If you has not Received a Letter from mee I expected you had rot to me to know the rason; if you be Removid you now ware to write to me; we feel our selves on comfortable about you as we heare so much disturbince in diffrent parts of Amaraca we are afraid you has bin Disturbed by the Rioters as I see Different Accounts in the Newspapers near Toronto & the neibourhood Pray send me an Account of your Adventurs Since I Received your Last Letter we ware all happy to heare you so comfortable sittuated & Likewise all the Friends & Neibours that now you we all so Disapointed of not Hearing from you; we are affraid that Somthing oncomfortable is happined since you rote to me Last time; I must beg of you Brave Children to write to me as soon as you Receive this Letter; Brother William & Wife & Child Send thar love to you All, Sistor Christain & Husband John Read Send that Love to you Thare little girl is about a year old thay ar livein at Hainford at pressent; & sister Mary is married to Joseph Burton of Lyng a Shoe maker & Carrier; she was confined with a Fine girl on the 17th of Augst & is very finely & the name is Elizabeth Thay send thair kind love to you all; Sister Susan send her Love to you all & her Little Boy Run Alone & is a year old & a Jolley Boy as ever you see of his age; Sister Hannah send her love to youall & shee is Livein at Thorp & is goen to continue thare Brother Charles is very well & send his love to you all & Sister Charlet is ever well & send her love to you all Shee is livein with her Sister Christain; Grannah send love to you all & shee is as well as we can expect for an old woman Uncle Richard & Fammily was well the Last Time I heard from him Christmas is well & live with mee at pressent but no work I suppose hee must go to the work house at Michelmas I cannot afford to support him Times are not so well with us at present Uncle Henry & Ant send thare love to you all thay are all well but Trade is very slow Mr & Mrs Blake was very well the last time we see them Mr & Mrs Ducn & Fammily is very well & send thar love to you all & will be glad to hear from you all; your brother John Broughton is married about 6 wheek to Miss Coc at Spixworth Daughter of Mr. Tom (or Jon) Coc Blacksmith His son Joshua is Dead John is to take the Business at Michelmas he has got the promis of all the work; John Longe Essyss is perfectly sattisfied with his carrickter & so are all the Farmers; it will be a good sittation for him if he is careful your Mother was at my house about the time he married & was very well, but cannot think the rason she has not had a latter as thare is letters commin almost every wheek to diffort Parts of the contry; thare is a grate number of Peopel from Hainford, Harstead, Frettenham Strattin & Havingham; we hare that maney of them are doing well; it make us oncomfortable about you I so think you are diffrently sittuated but we hope not, we send a letter by Mr. Myal he cald for a direction as he was sendin som peopel last summer to Toronto Citty and Harvist is goein on very well with plenty of wheat barley beans & every thing in seasen thank God for it our wheat is from 30 to 35 shillings per comb our flower is 2-10 but beef is 3 per stone harvest wages & labour is much the same as wen you left England give our respects to all that ask for us; I suppose you are all under the same govermet I hope it will be the better for every boddy both rich & poor after a tim; So no more at Pressent from your Lovein Father & Mother Wm & Christain Remmington Excuse my sayin any more at the pressent send me a letter then I will tell you a sheet
