There are a number of books which cover the history of Henfield - some available from standard bookshops, other out-of-print and only available from second-hand booksellers:
  • The story of Henfield; by Henry de Candole. Published by Combridges, Hove, 1947, reprinted 1976. As far as I know, this is only available on the second-hand market.

  • Henfield: a Sussex village; by Marjorie Carreck & Alan Barwick. Phillimore & Co., 2002. Available on Amazon at the time of writing - and also on sale in Stokes' newsagents in the High Street.
