Henfield is a village in West Sussex, almost equidistant between Brighton and Horsham. These pages consist mainly of photographs of the village from the Victorian period to the present day. The modern pictures are the product of my own digital camera. The older, black and white ones come courtesy of various sources, including West Sussex County Libraries, Phil White & Clive Scutt and Alan Barwick. Many thanks to Alan, not only for allowing me to scan in much of his comprehensive collection of photographs of Henfield and the Henfield windmills, but also for allowing me to plunder his incomparable knowledge of the village and its environs. Click the "History" link in the menu to see details of his book about Henfield, written with Marjorie Carreck.

If you would like your own photographs to be included, to send comments on any of the photographs, or simply to contact me, click on the "Comments" link in the left-hand menu bar. For conditions of use of the photographs on this site read the Copyright page.

Additions to the site include still frames from 8mm film footage of the village and environs taken in the 1960s by Jack Wickham - thanks to his grandson Jonny Tysoe for allowing me to reproduce them here.
