Emma Ainscough was born in Preston on 10th November, 1872. In 1881 she was living at 65 Ashmoor Street in Preston with her widowed mother. In 1891, still at Ashmoor Street with her stepfather and mother, she was working as a cotton weaver. She married boiler maker Joseph Bentley in Preston in 1898. In 1901 she was living at 51 Ashmoor Street, Preston. In 1939 she was living at 55 Ashmoor Street, Preston. She died in Preston in 1945, aged 72.
