Joseph Eke was born in Foulsham in 1849 and was the son of Joseph Eke (1811) and Charlotte. In 1851 he was living in Foulsham. In 1861 he was living the Street, Hindolveston, and was an agricultural labourer. He married Louisa in 1868. In 1881 he was living in Foulsham and working as a general labourer. In 1891 he was living in Church Road, Runwell, Chelmsford and working as an agricultural labourer.
