Daniel Eke was born in 1835 in Foulsham and was the son of Joseph Eke (1811) and Charlotte. In 1841 he was living in Bintree Road, Foulsham. In 1851 he was living in Foulsham and working as an agricultural servant. He married a woman from Carlton in Lincolnshire called Mary Awcock. In 1871 he was living on the Dies in Hindolveston and was working as an agricultural labourer. In 1881 he was a night watchman and living in Hindolveston.
