Walter Williams was born in Staffordshire in 1871 and married Emma Bellingall (1871) in 1890. In 1891 he was living at 90 Beaumont Street in the Beswick area of Manchester and working as an engineers turner. In 1901 he was living at 22 Victoria Street in the Bradford district of Manchester - next door to father-in-law John Bellingall - and working as a coal miner's labourer.
