Alexander Wilson was born in Manchester in 1852 and was the son of Alexander Getty Wilson (1824) and Louisa Bellingall. In 1861 he was living at the Crown Inn in Naylor Street, Manchester. In 1871 he was living at 29 Naylor Street in Manchester and was a tinplate worker. In 1881 he was living at 4 Back Cook Street, Salford, and working as a plater.
