Ann Ainscough was born in Horwich on 30th October 1901 and was the daughter of George Ainscough (b.1870) and Mary Ellen Winward. She was known as Annie and was never married. In 1911 she was living at 49 New Brunswick Stret in Horwich. She and a sister ran a confectioner's-cum-bakery in Leicester Avenue in Horwich for many years but, when her father retired to Lostock, she went with them to look after them. In 1939 she was living at 17 Leicester Avenue, Horwich, and was working as a confectioner and cake maker. She died about 1983.
