Elizabeth Purdy was born in 1858 in Little Walsingham and was the daughter of Thomas William Purdy (1834) and Ann Rawston. In 1861 she was living at the Robin Hood Inn in Little Walsingham. In 1871 she was living in the High Street, Little Walsingham.
