Notes for Charles Purdy
Charles Purdy was born around 1823, probably in Little Walsingham, and was possibly the son of Robert Purdy (1802) and Martha Lambert. He married Sarah A. Hodds in 1852. In 1861 he was living in Stacksteads, Newchurch, and working as a blacksmith. In 1871 he was living in Cemetery Terrace, Newchurch and was still a blacksmith. In 1881 he was working as a blacksmith and was living in Newchurch. In 1891 he was living at 2 Ash Mount, Rawtenstall, and working as a blacksmith. He died in 1896, aged 73.
