Notes for Hannah Woodhouse
Hannah Woodhouse was born in 1885 in Jarrow and was the daughter of cartman Jeremiah Woodhouse and Margaret. In 1891 she was living at 13 Salem Street. In 1901 she was living at 46 Ferry Street with her married sister Connie Maughn and an elder sister called Maggie. She was working in a ropery in Jarrow. Her first husband was Alfred Stewart (1889) from Leeds, who died while serving with the York and Lancaster Regiment in 1918. She married Alfred in 1916 in the Tynemouth district. After Alfred's death she married Walter Robert Pomfrey (1879) on 3rd November 1919 in St Mark's, Jarrow.
