Notes for Edmund (Edward) Pomfrey
Edmund Pomfrey was born on 29th December, 1874 in Lowestoft and was the son of Edmund Pomfrey and Mary Timbers. He was known throughout his life as Edward. In 1881 he was living at 2 County Villas in Lowestoft. In 1891, as Edward Pomfrey, he was working as a grocer's assistant and was living at 4 Sydney Cottages in County Villas. In 1901 he was working as a painter decorator, probably with his in-laws, the Purdy family, and was living in the High Street, Little Walsingham. He married Jemima S. Read in Norwich in 1916. In 1939 he was described as a retired painter and decorator and was living at 9 Cherry Lane, Norwich. He died in early 1940 in Norwich, aged 66.
