Hannah Eke was born in 1828 in Corpusty, and was the daughter of William Eke (1768) and Rosamund Bullock. She never married. From 1851 to 1871 she was working as a shopkeeper in Corpusty in the household of Robert Platten - probably her stepfather, where she was listed in 1841. In 1881 she was a general shopkeeper in Corpusty. Her nephew Walter was living with her. In 1891 she was living at The Lawn in Saxthorpe with her widowed sister Maria. In 1901 she was living in Saxthorpe with Walter and his family. She died in 1905, aged 77.
