George Mangnall was born in Westhoughton in 1868 and was the son of Jesse Mangnall (1838) and Alice Holden. In 1871 he was living in Grove Lane, Westhoughton. In 1881 he was living in Kingsdown Terrace, Harrington Road, Abram, and working as a dataler in a coal mine. In 1891 he was living at 97 Warrington Road, Abram, and working as a coal miner. He married Elizabeth Winstanley in 1891. In 1901 he was living at 459 Warrington Road and working as a coal hewer. In 1911 he was living at 73 Annerley Street, Denaby, Yorkshire, and working as a coal miner.
