Ethel Coop was born in 1890 in Sheffield and was the daughter of Josiah Coop (1851) and Sarah Rhodes. In 1891 she was living at 99 Bramber Street in the Brightside Bierlow area of Sheffield. In 1901 she was living at 6 Avondale Road in the Hillsborough area of Sheffield.
