John Forder was born on 22nd January 1811 in Hales or Loddon, Suffolk, and was the son of Samuel Forder (1790) and Elizabeth Archer. He married Caroline Edwards in Bloomsbury in 1840. In 1841 he was living in London Road, Beccles, and listed as a farmer. In 1851 he was living in London Road and listed as a farm bailiff. In 1861 he was living in London Road and was an agricultural labourer and farm bailiff. In 1871 he was living in London Road and was a farmer of 25 acres. In 1881 he was a farmer of 15 acres. He was living in London Road, Beccles.
