Joseph John King was the son of William L. King, a Norwich carpenter. In 1881 he was living in Vauxhall Street, Heigham. He married Florence Bridget Broughton on 11th October 1890 in Norwich. In 1891 he was living in Carlyle Road in Lakenham. In 1901, he was working as a book binder and was living at 3 Hill Street, Heigham. In 1911 he was still at 3 Hill Street. but his occupation was given as a boot finisher. He died in Norwich in 1938, aged 71.
