Elizabeth Broughton was born in Edgefield on 4th June 1848 and was the daughter of William Broughton (1815) and Rebecca Dagless. In 1851 she was living in Edgefield. In 1861 she was living at the White Horse, Edgefield. In 1864 she was working as a housemaid in the household of a Mr. Reeve in the King’s Road, Chelsea. In 1875 she was working as an upper housemaid in Tickencote Hall, Stamford, Rutland, but had left there by 1877 with a pain in her side. She was expecting to get work at Chartwell in Westerham, but probably never got there. She died in November 1883. Elizabeth had a child - father unknown: Rebecca Sophia (1869).
