Robert Green was born in Westhoughton in 1801 and christened on 23rd May. He married Alice Winward (1813). In 1851, 1861 and 1871 he was farming 19 acres in Kirsby Lane, Westhoughton. In 1881 he was retired and living at 28 Leigh Road, Westhoughton. He died in 1881, aged 80.
