Luke Ainscough was born around 1889 in Pemberton and was the son of Thomas Ainscough (b. 1854) and Ellen Parkinson. In 1891 he was aged 2 and living at 21 Turners Yard In Pemberton. In 1901 he was aged 12 and still at Turners Yard. In 1911 he was living at 668 Warrington Road, Brynn, Pemberton, and working as a coal miner drawer.
