John Ralph Ainscough was born on 27th August 1922 at 17 Leicester Street (now Leicester Avenue) in Horwich and at 57 Hilton Avenue, Horwich. He attended St. Catherine’s Primary School from 1926 to 1933, and Bolton school for Boys from 1933 to 1938. He was living at 57 Hilton Avenue in 1939 and was at Lewis’s Department Store in Manchester. He married Mabel Broughton in Nuneaton on 20th November 1943. He lived at 3 Stonefield Avenue, Kelvindale, Glasgow, from 1946 to 1951. From 1951 to 1957 he lived at 248 Crown Lane, Horwich. From 1957 to 1960 he lived at 1 Devon Place, Lancaster. From 1957 to 1973 he lived at 26 Barton Road, Lancaster. From 1973 to 2016 he lived at 17 Peacock Crescent, Hest Bank. He died in the Sands nursing home at 309 Marine Road East, Morecambe on 24th February 2016.
