James M Ainscough was born in Standish around 1854 and was the son of James Ainscough (1813) and Sarah. He may be the grandson of Ralph Ainscough (1782) and Nanny. In 1881 he was aged 27, was working as a house furnisher and living with his parents at 1 Market Place, Standish with Langtree. In 1901 he was aged 47 and was working as an upholsterer in Standish.
