George Reginald Carter (Reg) was born on 26th January, 1908, and married Ellen Ainscough (1908) in 1931. He was a policeman and then helped to run the confectioners and bakers in Leicester Avenue, Horwich. In 1939 he was living at 10 Chesham Avenue, Rochdale, and was a Police Constable with the Rochdale Borough Police. He emigrated to Canada and then to Australia.
