Edward Ainscough was born in 1880 in Blackrod and was the son of William Ainscough (1845) and Jane. In 1881 he was aged 5 months and was living in Little Scotland, Blackrod. In 1901 he was aged 19 and was working as a coal miner in Blackrod.
